El sistema de control dinámico de torque AWD lo monitorea y gobierna activamente hacia las ruedas traseras y la distribución del delantero con relación 100:0 a 50:50 reduce el consumo de combustible y brinda estabilidad al auto. Como la seguridad lo es todo, sin importar el tipo de viaje, RAV4 está hecha para que si las ruedas frontales patinan, el 50% torque se pase a las ruedas traseras, y para cuando la aventura implica caminos complicados de surcar, el sistema se puede bloquear para volver la SUV 4×4 en velocidades no superiores a 40km/h.
